The story
Where Botanical Line comes from
Botanical illustration has a job: show the parts of a plant clearly enough that someone could identify it. That job produces a particular kind of drawing — one line weight, no shading, leaves turned to show their shape rather than their foreshortening, and the whole specimen laid flat as if pressed. This family follows that discipline. Each design is one species or one arrangement, drawn at a single stroke width, with the stem continuous from base to tip. They are the easiest designs we make to colour and the hardest to draw well, because there is nowhere for a wobbly line to hide.

Want this design on something we do not make yet?
Tell us the product and we will say honestly whether our partners can print it and whether the drawing survives at that size. Some of our families do not work on small items, and we would rather say so than sell you a blur.
